“I cannot speak too highly of Mr Raman. He has changed my vision and my life, for which I will always be eternally grateful. The morning after the operation I removed the eye pad, (admittedly with some apprehension) and could not “believe my eyes”. I could see, without a contact lens…….unbelievable!! I was a person, who when I woke up each morning, found my way to my bathroom by “habit”, and found my toothbrush, because I knew where it was! Now, I can go about my life without the need for a contact lens or glasses for the first time in 50+ years. He has exceptional expertise and also is a very caring and kind person. He makes you feel at ease and relaxed in what can be a very stressful and worrying situation. Attributes which I think are very important. I will continue to see Mr Raman on a regular basis to ensure all is well with my retinas. Mr. Raman has been my consultant ophthalmologist since 2015.
My first dealings involved an emergency procedure to repair my retinal detachment.
His friendly attitude made me feel at ease as well as reassured about his professionalism. He also invited my wife to be present at these early discussions explaining retinal detachment. He explained in detail what the problem was and how he would approach the procedure to repair the detachment. It was helpful for me as well as my wife to understand what was involved. He welcomed any questions concerning this and explained in simple terms all queries.
Due to the complexity of the detachment I have remained under treatment by Mr. Raman and throughout, his attitude is always the same, very professional but prepared to have a light conversation as appropriate.
In summary I am very pleased to have received treatment from Mr. Raman.
